Studying Sodium in Skin
UCSF Dermatology is studying how sodium is stored in the skin in healthy adults and adults with atopic dermatitis. We are recruiting adults aged 50+ with atopic dermatitis and adults aged 50+ with healthy skin.
This study involves 4-6 in-person visits over 4 months to 2 years. Participants will be compensated with $200-$300 upon completion of the study.

Skin Barrier Function and Inflammation in Aging: The BIA Study
This is a NIH-funded clinical research study about skin barrier function and inflammation among older adults. We are recruiting participants age 70 and older who are willing to participate in 3 in-person study visits over a period of 8 weeks and apply a moisturizer at home. They will be compensated up to $90.

Sodium in the Skin and Atopic Dermatitis (SIS-AD)
This is a NIH-funded clinical research study designed to determine whether diet and skin barrier function are associated with elevated skin sodium concentration, and whether skin sodium concentration is associated with atopic dermatitis. We are recruiting participants age 50 and older who are willing to participate in 4-6 in-person visits over a period of 3 months to 2 years. They will be compensated for up to $600.
